Physical Environments for Long-Term Care

For the last decade, under the direction of Lois J. Cutler, the LTC Resource Center has been studying physical environments for people who need or receive long-term care.  Our intent is to examine ways that physical settings can support or hinder functional abilities and quality of life. The scope of our environmental work includes nursing homes, assisted living settings, and in-home settings, and regulations that affect the physical environment.  We have also developed measurement tools to study physical environments and link them to individual attributes and outcomes.
