Quantitative Chartbooks

 

The Rebalancing Research included special quantitative analyses to examine expenditure patterns for consumers of LTSS in the community (through Medicaid waivers or State Medicaid Plans) or in institutions.  For the most part, these analyses were performed using national Medicaid data linked to user files provided by the States.  The analyses examine not only Medicaid expenditures on LTSS but also expenditures on acute care and health-related services for different target groups of participants receiving services in the community versus in institutions.  One set of analyses combined Medicaid and Medicare expenditures for LTSS participants who are dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid.  Special quantitative analyses were also performed using assessment data available in Florida, Minnesota, and Washington.
