John A. Nyman, PhD, has research
interests in the theory of health insurance,
cost-effectiveness and cost-benefit
analysis, nursing home behavior and
long-term care policy, the behavior of
physicians, and gambling as a public health
issue. His research and theory papers have
appeared in almost all of the prominent
health economics and health services
research journals.
Dr. Nyman teaches
four graduate-level courses: (1) Economics
of the Health Care System, (2) Health
Insurance (with Roger Feldman), (3)
Cost-Effectiveness Analysis in Health Care
and (4) Economics of Sex, Drugs and Risky
Behaviors (with Pinar Karaca-Mandic and Bob
Town). He has received awards for
excellence in classroom teaching.
