Beth Virnig,
Ph.D., M.P.H. is an epidemiologist who
specializes in studies of health care
utilization. She is the principal
investigator of a grant from the American
Cancer Society to examine geographic
variation in access to hospice care. She is
an investigator and Director of Training for
ResDAC. Her areas of interest include:
access and quality of end-of-life care,
cancer care and differences in care between
the Medicare Fee-for-service and managed
care systems. She is co-leader of the
Patterns of Care working group for the
University of Minnesota Cancer Center. She
is coordinator for the analytic
concentration in the PHAP major, and a
member of the Graduate Faculty in Health
Policy and Management and Epidemiology
majors and the Bioethics minor.
