About Us
Mission and History
This division has a distinguished
history, being one
of the first health services research programs in
the United States, and continues to pursue its
mission in health
services research and public health. The division
offers three graduate degree programs: Master of
Science, Doctor of Philosophy, and a Master of
Public Health.

Research
Health services research is "the
multidisciplinary field of scientific investigation
that studies how social factors, financing systems,
organizational structures and processes, health
technologies, and personal behaviors affect access
to health care, the quality and cost of health care,
and ultimately our health and well-being. Its
research domains are individuals, families,
organizations, institutions, communities and
populations." (source).

The Division of Health Policy and Management is
located in the Twin
Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul in Minnesota,
a state noted for innovative organizations,
including the state
health care organizations, Minnesota Department
of Health and Minnesota Department of Human Services
provide information and resources regarding the
health of the people of Minnesota,
health plans,
and health
research.
