Title: MinnesotaHelp.info ® - Online Access to Community Resources Article:

Since 2003, the Minnesota Board on Aging (MBA) has maintained an online database filled with information about government, social and human services across Minnesota. The Web site has recently been completely redesigned, and can be found at www.minnesotahelp.info <http://www.minnesotahelp.info/>. MinnesotaHelp.info ® is an online  directory of services designed to help people in Minnesota identify resources such as human services, information and referral, financial  assistance, and other forms of aid and assistance within Minnesota. It is especially rich in resource information for seniors and their  caregivers; people with disabilities and their caregivers; parents and families; and low income people.

Consumers and professionals can easily search for services in their  local area, using a simple search function or by clicking on links to popular topics arranged by subject areas. In addition to searching for  services, users can email search results to others, or save them in a plan that they can come back to later. Detailed information about  services is available, such as eligibility information, application instructions, business hours, contact information, maps and driving  directions to any service location, and much more.

For people who may not know exactly what types of services are  available to them, MinnesotaHelp.info ® Resource Navigators can help them figure out what their needs are, find local services to help meet  those needs, and create a plan that they can print out or email to someone else. Plans can be saved and updated as needed. Currently, the site features the Long-term Care Choices Resource Navigator for seniors and their caregivers, as well as the Youth Resource Navigator  for youth.

The resource database behind MinnesotaHelp.info ® is the same one used by the Linkage Lines to provide telephone-based information and assistance to citizens of Minnesota. The Senior LinkAge Line ® (1-800-333-2433), Disability Linkage Line™ (866-333-2466) and Veterans Linkage Line™ (888-LINKVET or 888-546-5838) help seniors and their caregivers, people with disabilities of all ages, and veterans find services, understand benefits, and navigate systems effectively.
