MHA

The Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) Program prepares graduates for leadership positions in the health care delivery sector. Built around a rigorously structured core curriculum that develops the high-level decision-making skills needed in the complex world of healthcare, the MHA Program blends classic management disciplines with practical applications within the healthcare industry. The Minnesota MHA is recognized as providing the premiere student-centered education experience: learning that is theory-based and practice-enabled.

MPH - PHAP

The MPH program in Public Health Administration and Policy (PHAP) prepares graduates for administrative positions in public health, managed care, nonprofits, or other organizations that seek to improve the health of populations. Core curriculum emphasizes management of organizations to improve population health—emphasizing population-focused administration, policy development, and evidence-based public health.

MS - HSRP&A

The Master of Science in Health Services Research, Policy and Administration (MS-HSRP&A) provides a solid foundation in analytic skills and health care organization to contribute to data analysis in health systems. The program’s quantitative strength is enhanced by interest areas to allow students to pursue research and design analysis or analytic management in health care in greater depth. Students may also develop their own interest area. This is an excellent program for those who wish to develop their analytical capabilities to contribute to health care management, health services research, or health policy work.

PHD - HSRP&A

The PhD in Health Services Research, Policy and Administration trains students for positions as researchers and teachers in top research universities, in government agencies at the state and federal level, and in the research arms of private health insurance, provider, or consulting organizations. The doctoral program’s faculty is nationally and internationally renowned scholars and researchers who are experts in their respective fields. The program is also known for its rigorous training in quantitative research methods and for its emphasis on economic, sociological and political theory as a basis for analyzing health services issues.

Long Term Care Administration Licensure

The University of Minnesota Center for Aging Services Management (formerly the Center for Long Term Care Administration) offers a nontraditional program for people who want to get licensed as a nursing home administrator or are seeking a career as a long term care manager.
