Our Alumni
Consisting of more than 1,600 practicing administrators, Minnesota's
Alumni Association/Foundation is the largest and most active group
of its kind in the country. It is dedicated to the ongoing professional
development of its members and quality program development for student
members.
Graduates are employed in all facets of health services delivery.
Approximately 30% are associated with multihospital systems, 29%
with community hospitals and academic medical centers, 11% in HMOs,
group practices, and long-term care, 10% in consulting, and the
remaining 20% in a variety of health-related and other areas. An
ongoing Job Referral Service provides information and contacts for
alumni seeking career changes.
The Alumni Association is committed to maintaining the Minnesota
Program's tradition of excellence. The Executive-in-Residence program
brings a senior executive in healthcare management to campus for
a year to participate in class lectures, identify strategic health
management issues, and serves as a student resource.
Alumni serve as affiliated faculty, guest lecturers, residency
and fellowship preceptors and vital contacts for placement upon
graduation.
Students develop relationships with alumni through the Mentor Program.
Alumni serve as role models and advisors, becoming involved in student
concerns, plans and goals. Many mentor relationships continue well
past graduation on into a student's career.
