Keynote Presentation
"Where is the Political and Economic
Leadership to Balance Health Gain and
Health Care?"
In an era of increasing demands for care
and unequal access to resources for
health and health care, how must global
health sector leaders best anticipate
and prepare for the tensions and
collisions of several bi-polar
challenges: frail older adults with
fewer children and young children born
to teenagers; the twin burdens of
chronic and communicable diseases;
emergency preparedness for natural
disasters and bio-terrorism; equitable
access to private and public health
insurance; starvation and obesity;
potable water, drought and floods.
