NHRegsPlus serves as a one-stop location to examine and compare the content of state regulations related to nursing homes.  It contains federal nursing home regulations and nursing home regulations for all states and the District of Columbia, updated as of July 2007.

NHRegsPlus also contains comparative analyses of more than 70 topics dealing with nursing home regulation in narrative and tabular form.  The narratives also contain occasional comments, signed as NHRegs Comments, that call attention to issues that may be relevant in the movement towards greater individualization of resident care and transformation of nursing home services and environments to achieve better resident quality of life.

Use this location in multiple ways:

--learn about regulations governing a particular state
--learn about how a particular topic is handled nationwide
--consult federal regulations and related codes

With funding from the Hulda B. and Maurice L. Rothschild Foundation, researchers at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health created this website to make transparent the realities of state nursing home regulation.

In this website, state and federal regulations are dated from the time they were extracted. Please consult the relevant state office for updates.
Summaries of regulations and regulatory processes are the work of project staff and do not reflect official positions of any federal or state agencies.
