Donna McAlpine, Phd, is a medical sociologist whose research focuses on alcohol, drug and mental health care. Recent research has examined access to psychiatric care, utilization of services and treatment outcomes for persons with severe mental illnesses and the impact of changes in the health system. Her work also examines disparities in health care and outcomes among different cultural communities and the use of community-based participatory research.
